ECE 1: Apply Child Development Theory to Practice

A.    You  Utilize Developmental Theory and Assessment Information to Inform Practice

I have chosen this artifact to help demonstrate that I have shown my ability to utilize developmental theory and assessment information to inform practice; this is my theory comparison chart that I did in my second semester in the class of child development. On this assignment, I summarize the theories in my own words to show that I understand the theories. I believe learning about the theories will help assist me through out my career with children. After doing this assignment, I learned all about different theories about how people develop through out time.

B.   You Correlate the Relationship Between Play and Learning

I have chosen my artifact on how I analyze children's development when it comes to observations on play and learning. I did this assignment in my second semester child development class. This assignment shows how I listed the videos in each development section that it belongs too. It shows fine motor, gross motor, perceptual, cognitive, language, and social/emotional. It also shows a summary of what I learned about each development. This assignment has taught me what to look at when comes to observing the development domains in children. 

C.    You Summarize Child Development Theories and Best Practices Based on Research

I have chosen this artifact to show how I can summarize child development theories and best practices based on research. I did this assignment in my second semester in my infant/toddler development class. It shows that I did my research on child development theorists and theories to make my opinions on them. In the discussion, it describes what theories that made sense to me and which one doesn't. It also shows why I think there is so many theories that have to do with development. I am now able to use these theories through out my work with children.
